Matt Payne Website Launch

The extraordinary Auckland-based New Zealand landscape artist Matt Payne recently approached our team at Tanker to refresh his website. His paintings are comprised of exceptional detail and he needed top notch website design to showcase his work. With many customers and galleries interested in his unique style, it was also essential that he had a responsive website design that would allow visitors to navigate with ease.

Much of Matt’s work is inspired by a love of New Zealand’s landscapes and coastlines, which is reflected in dramatic compositions and depicted with vivid colour and extraordinary attention to detail. He has a fascination with the relationship between colour, light and form and how these are perceived by the eye. Matt approaches these elements as if working with a code, aiming always to capture the essence of whatever it is he is painting, whether that is an emotion, a feeling or a mood.

Armed with a stunning collection of imagery to work with, Tanker began creating a WordPress website design to give users a taste of the extent of Matt’s ability.

The large feature images and detail shots showcase the immense level of consideration applied to every painting. Our website design team updated Matt’s artist profile to embody his professional yet playful nature and then carried this tone throughout the copy and design. The choice of colour palette and fonts also reflect Matt’s work – contemporary and strong but never harsh.

The resulting WordPress website is an online portfolio, with blog functionality to engage visitors to the site with an insight into Matt’s daily practice and processes.

Whether starting from scratch or thinking about a revamp, our team can help you create an impact online with beautiful and functional web design that looks, feels and reads like your business. You don’t need to be Christchurch-based to collaborate with Tanker. With clients all over the globe we’re not shy about jumping on Skype, we have the technology! Let’s talk.
