Simon Devitt’s April Newsletter

A lot has happened over the past 6 weeks in the life of Simon Devitt. But firstly, a giant high five to the 45 winners at the New Zealand Institute of Architects’ Auckland local area awards 2017 held last week. The region has produced some quality work in the last year with 64 creations also shortlisted.

His newest galleries feature dramatic high design from across the country including inside Wellington’s Italian Embassy; a family-friendly spot, cloistered in Auckland’s Mt Eden and state-of-the-art corporate offices in both islands. Also, entries to the Simon Devitt prize for photography are open! The competition is open to the NICAI community at the University of Auckland and entries can be submitted until 5 May. The photos will be curated for an exceptional exhibition and prize giving in late May.

The Rannoch Exhibition at Pa Homestead has now closed. However – always the documenter – there’s a gallery of images for those who wish to relive the experience or were unable to visit. There are still copies of the award-winning Rannoch Photo Book available to buy online too.
