Tanker has been involved in Aotearoa New Zealand’s fine arts and creative landscape since the early naughties when Founder Nicola Devine was in the right place at the right time to take up an opportunity to work with artists and galleries.
Since then Tanker has continued to both collaborate with creatives and put their money where their mouth is by collecting contemporary local art and design with a prominent focus on female practitioners.
These days Team Tanks are known for successful partnerships with creative professionals such as international artists, Michel Tuffery, Claudia Borella, Kushana Bush, Evan Woodruffe and Maca Bernal—consulting and collaborating on elements of their brand, web and social media marketing.

Creative Director
Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland + Whanganui + Ōtautahi Christchurch
Originally trained as a graphic designer in the 1990s, when iPhones were still a twinkle in Steve Jobs’ eye, Nicola has been involved in both print-based and interactive media since her time studying at Whanganui School of Design.
Nicola is an avid follower of new opportunities in marketing, design and communications. Her main interests are in technology, sustainable creative practice and diversity. She integrates these interests into the business by ensuring a respect for Māori and Pacific Islands culture; ethnicity, sexuality, gender, social, economic and people with disabilities. Her work also involves educating and mentoring within the arts and creative industries—including running workshops for creatives through the Wayfind Creative and ArtsLab initiatives.
Since 2019 Nicola has also served on the Board of Trustees for Devonports Depot Artspace.
Studio and Account Manager
Ōtautahi Christchurch
When it comes to systems and studio workflow Gina efficiently keeps the Tankettes in their lanes. With a background in Event Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Management, both the big picture and small detail of projects are totally her jam.
An Ōtautahi local, you can find Gina walking in the port hills on a Saturday morning or sipping a Flat white at Little Poms.
