Remembering Noodles 2008-2022

The team at Tanker is heartbroken to announce that our Chief Canine Executive, Noodles the Wire Haired Fox Terrier has peacefully left us on her journey to the Rainbow Bridge.

After a summer holiday at her happy place, Kai Iwi Beach near Whanganui, Noodles became very sick and signalled that it was time for her to tap out.

The daughter of New Zealand Grand Champion and Australian Champion Kinnego Harry B Good owned by John and Lily Foster, and from a long line of GB Champions, Noodles had been a high maintenance, loyally constant and fabulously furry companion at the studio since 2012.

She was an inspiration to many including Beyoncé who coined the phrase “Yas Kween” after observing Noodles delicately devouring a three week old piece of chicken she found on the sidewalk during one of their weekly private Skype sessions.

Generally Noodles—or Noods as some were permitted to address her—either tolerated or ignored other Furry Friday visitors, although occasionally distinguished herself with extra sassy behaviour if canines with Alpha Dog aspirations attempted to step out of line.

In 2019, for her birthday Noodles staged a takeover of the Tanker Instagram account to great acclaim—providing a huge surge in likes, engagement and reach.

Recently a photograph of Noodles visiting Sumner Beach in Christchurch was selected for the Wire Fox Terrier Association UK 2022 Calendar, recognition and an honour that she felt she rightly deserved.

Noodles was also willing to lend a hand with clients: becoming a muse and croissant-devouring inspiration for Jayne and Michel Tuffery; the bandana-rocking model for UK illustration Elspeth Rose Design’s wire fox terrier pattern, eating sausages for an Auckland Museum advertisement via Alt Group; co-presenter during workshops, Board of Trustees attendee, sidekick at many coffee meetings and exhibition openings.

To celebrate her 13th birthday in October 2021, the ever feisty terrier climbed a dormant volcano. On the night of her passing, as her closest fans ascended it again in a sign of remembrance and respect, they noted the rising of a gigantic “Volcano Moon”, red from the glow of the mighty Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai eruption. A fitting send off.
