What better way to start a new week with updates to the ever-burgeoning website of client Simon Devitt, photographer of architecture?

First up are Simon’s images for the Geyser, a commercial project in the inner city suburb of Parnell, Auckland. I first became aware of this project when discovering my rather dreary local shops had disappeared into rubble! In their place has risen a far more sustainable and aesthethically eye-catching form with materials and angular, crystiline structure emulating the glistening, light-catching bulk of it’s moniker and taking architecture in Parnell to a new and luscious level.

Simon has also added photographic documentation of the development of the Novotel Hotel at Auckland Airport. It is fascinating to see the process and detail involved in a building. The secret elements of the jigsaw that eventually become one giant structure. The people involved, from trades people to investors and clients. Simon’s eye for detail, composition and love of light are much appreciated in this series. One to gorge on!
My fave is this one of the staircase. As George Takei would say “Oh myyyyy”!
